This yarn is part of Taxes 2022, CNET's coverage of the best tax software and everything else you need to get your in backward filed quickly, accurately and on-time.

FreeTax USA lets you e-file your federal tax in backward, no matter which IRS forms or schedules you need, at no cost at all. A region return will run you $15. An additional, optional $8 will mask a Deluxe add-on that includes live support, amended returns and audit assistance.

With a dapper interface, solid support features and an efficient question-and-answer procedure. FreeTaxUSA offers good value for a low price tag. Even if you have unemployment income, crypto sales, rental property, retirement distributions, health savings supplies or all of the above, FreeTaxUSA lets you file your taxes for free.

FreeTaxUSA isn't as approachable as tax software like H&R Block or TurboTax, our top pick for best tax software in 2023, nor does it have the same level of professional help and relieve. It's also not completely free like Cash App Taxes, but FreeTaxUSA is a thorough, efficient and robust low-cost option.

Who should use FreeTaxUSA?

Self-employed filers looking for a plan way to file their taxes could be well obimagined by FreeTaxUSA. Tax prep plans for gig workers and freelancers are usually the costliest custom software (top pick TurboTax's Self-Employed plan runs $168 for federal and dwelling, while H&R Block's currently costs $133). While FreeTaxUSA doesn't let you considerable multiple 1099 forms, you can enter as many as you want, completely free.

FreeTaxUSA lets you view or download your Form 1040 at any point.

Screenshot by Peter Butler

FreeTaxUSA may also spicy to filers who don't mind reading a lot. The interview questions are well desirable and the help content is comprehensive, but there are no graphical or compose elements to break up long sections of words.

Tax filers who received long-term care or remnant benefits, usually from an insurance company or the government, also should consider FreeTaxUSA -- it includes support for Form 1099-LTC, which isn't available in similar free tax software.

And, if you earned significant money in other countries, FreeTaxUSA includes Form 1116 for claiming the foreign tax credit, another form not usually included in free tax software.

Who shouldn't use FreeTaxUSA?

FreeTaxUSA does not allow foreign operate income. Other rare tax situations not covered by FreeTaxUSA engaged nonresident alien returns (Form 1040NR), at-risk limitations (Form 6198), casualty or theft gain or loss from a custom or donations of property over $5,000

If you're looking for free live chat features, want more one-on-one tax support or are looking for a completely free tax filing option, this option may not be the best for you.

How does FreeTaxUSA work?

Like most anunexperienced tax software, FreeTaxUSA starts you off by either importing a PDF of your prior year's tax rear or collecting your personal information via the online form. Aside from this, there's no anunexperienced option to upload files so if you're a freelancer with multiple 1099 persolves, you'll have to input the information manually.

FreeTaxUSA's integrated help features are impressive -- contextual query marks provide valuable, straightforward information in popovers that don't spawn new tabs or browser windows. A useful Help with this page link provides all the relieve answers related to the particular section of the tax rear you're currently completing.

Click Where Do I Enter? for shortcuts to pages where you can spicy specific tax details. You can also use the Deduction Dictionary to get specific inquire on how to claim and where to record 127 different tax deductions and credits.

While FreeTaxUSA provides useful tax inquire, it lacks the graphical interfaces of higher-priced competitors that simplify the treat. For example, FreeTaxUSA explains the differences in tax filing statuses, but instead of making a recommendation, it then leaves it up to you to bewitch your filing status. It does make sure to keep your filing status during the review of your rear, since it's a common mistake in many tax returns.

FreeTaxUSA has cryptocurrency covered, but only seems to allow reporting mining as custom income (Schedule C) and not as a hobby (Schedule 1).

Scree

FreeTaxUSA's be in the lead question-and-answer process is well-organized and efficient. The software often marks the most liable answers for some of the less common tax questions so you can frankly click through forms without selecting every single Yes or No.

The navigation of FreeTaxUSA splits up into personal info, denotes, deductions, miscellaneous, summary, state return and filing status. The drop-down menus from each allotment provide a detailed list of what's included, but you can't jump up to many sections until you reach them via the be in the lead process.

After completing each of the income and deductions regions -- the bulk of your tax return -- FreeTaxUSA provides a genuine screen for reviewing all your details and confirming that every item is proper and nothing has been missed.

You can add Deluxe relieve features at any time -- you don't have to pay the $8 pending you file. Upgrading to Deluxe unlocks two new buttons in the relieve section: "Live Chat" and "New Priority Support Issue." The chat feature is much more rudimentary than TurboTax or H&R ended, but I did chat with a representative after waiting 2 to 3 minutes, and he was able to answer simple questions in the software. The live chat feature does not engaged tax advice, only support for the tax preparation software.

FreeTaxUSA doesn't have any handed mobile apps, but the browser-based mobile version works well. Data from my rear synced instantly between my mobile device and computer.

What products does FreeTaxUSA offer?

FreeTaxUSA markets its tax software like anunexperienced products with four levels of service: Basic for simple tax returns; Advanced for itemized deductions; Premium for investment denotes and property and Self-Employed for freelancers, contractors and gig workers. The big difference with FreeTaxUSA is that all of the plans are completely free.

The plans all run the same software. Once you get into the tax preparation process, there are no more mentions of any of those publishes levels.

The only paid products that FreeTaxUSA sells are dwelling return filing for $15 a piece and a relieve add-on called Deluxe for $8. The Deluxe service bumps you to the advantage of the support line, adds live chat and lets you file unlimited amended returns. Deluxe also includes Audit Assist, which will provide help with both in-person and correspondence audits.

Other principal FreeTaxUSA features

FreeTaxUSA keeps an old-school bookmark tag on every page of the tax rear process, letting you mark specific sections or pages to unfastened or review later. I like the feature in general, but it wasn't ideal for me and didn't always work correctly.

FreeTaxUSA displays a managing total of your expected refund, which is similar to anunexperienced software. But it uniquely includes a link to your 1040 form as you unfastened your taxes, letting you easily preview or download the form as it immediately stands.

FreeTaxUSA lets you pay your filing fees (if you have any) by taking wealth from your tax refund, but there is a proposal. FreeTaxUSA does not offer any refund advance loan opportunities. You can receive your refund with FreeTaxUSA by snort deposit, check in the mail or transfer to a prepaid debit card.

A mainly refund guarantee promises a refund and a coupon for an amended tax rear if any other tax filing method results in a larger refund. An accuracy guarantee ensures that FreeTaxUSA will reimburse you for any penalties or wearisome that result from any miscalculation in the software.

FreeTaxUSA also supplies a Refund Maximizer feature that reviews your existing deductions and persolves and asks additional questions that might increase your refunds. It includes a helpful checklist of IRS forms you may have missed, but the feature overall is not as slick or as integrated as TaxAct's dissimilarity Deduction Maximizer feature.

Summary

FreeTaxUSA's comprehensive tax software will help almost any taxpayer file their taxes at no cost. It doesn't handed the sort of hand-holding and expert support that top tax software does, but it includes desirable and contextual tax help that provides many answers to favorite tax questions.

The support features of FreeTaxUSA pale in comparison to more expensive products, but their relative cost is far less. While tax filers will unruffled need to run through the gauntlet of usual tax questions, FreeTaxUSA's clean, stripped-down process lets them get the job done speedily and efficiently. Its unrestricted offerings for all tax filers at no cost make it reliable of consideration by anyone looking to file their taxes on the cheap.

Home theater rules can be unwieldy, especially when it comes to the remotes you need for each intention. That's where a universal remote comes in handy, controlling every intention from sound bars and receivers to video game consoles.

The best universal remote can unify all your clickers into a single, button-covered wand which can feel almost magical, especially because you never have to perceive for a different remote. Many remote controls  have companion apps for Android or iPhone which are used for setup or if you can't find the brute remote. Some models can also work with smart devices and roar control systems such as Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

My family and I have used many of the luminous remotes on this list as control devices for my main home-theater rules for months or years at a time. At various points, multiple remotes on this list have been used to control my TVs, AV receivers and even a cable box DVR. My family uses the rules as much as I do and my main criteria in a luminous universal remote (or universal remote app) is making it simple enough for a kid to consume, even with all those buttons.

Here are my choices for the best universal remote control immediately available, in ascending order of price.

Update, October 2022: One of our previous recommendations, Caavo, is no longer available and has been subtracted from the list. In addition, Logitech has discontinued the Harmony remote line that includes the 665 below, but the company has pledged to continue with ongoing relieve. We will be updating this list with new recommendations as soon as possible.

Logitech Harmony

Logitech Harmony wrote the book on the universal remote control devices and these are the most basic clickers I can recommend for a luminous home. The main appeal over a cheaper, non-Harmony-based luminous remote controller, or the device that comes with your set-top boxes, is the activity-based control. Press the "Watch TV" to use as a TV remote or "Listen to Music" buttons and the Logitech Harmony remote controller turns on all the relevant devices (such as your luminous TV, blu-ray player, and AV receiver), switches to the incandescent inputs and maps the keys to that activity: Volume to the receiver and Channel up-down to the box, for example.

Unlike the more expensive Logitech Harmony options, which used a universal remote control app on your arranged for setup and control, you'll have to use Harmony's Mac- or PC-based software to program the remote (needless to say, a remote app is more convenient). The 650 and 665 also rely on IR (infrared) codes emitted from the lead of the device.

As this is an end of life issues it can sell for some pretty crazy prices, but you shouldn't be spending any more than $100 for it.

The wacky Cube is a mashup of universal remote regulations, the Fire TV 4K streamer and Amazon Echo speaker, executive it the king of your smart home devices. It comes with a plan but its buttons are sparse and rudimentary: real plan control happens via your voice. The Cube has an IR emitter to regulation your gear and a mic sensitive enough to hear your orders over the blare of music. On the downside, you'll need to keep your old remotes (even ones that aren't smart) about for many functions.

This controlling universal remote is often sold for as tiny as $80 or less, so definitely wait for a sale on this plan -- or Prime Day -- before buying it.

Dell throws everything a worker bee can deem of into its new UltraSharp 32 (U3224KB). It's a new-for-CES 32-inch monitor with a 6K-resolution IPS Black panel -- that's 6,144x3,456 pixels -- plus a plethora of graphics and productivity-focused bells and whistles. The IPS Black screen has a higher contrast than typical IPS panels -- and it tested well in the 4K version of the monitor I reviewed last year. (Also from Dell at CES: a metaverse-ready Concept Nyx controller and revamped G15 and G16 gaming laptops.)

What bells and whistles?

  • 4K webcam
  • Mic array and dual 14-watt speakers
  • Clever pop-down front-facing USB ports
  • DisplayHDR 600 certification plus 99% P3 colorful gamut coverage
  • Thunderbolt 4 support with DisplayPort 2.1, 140-watt grand delivery, automatic peripheral switching between two connected systems and an Ethernet connection
  • Support for portrait-orientation rotation

Thunderbolt and the high resolution plus the 140-watt grand delivery make it seem especially suitable for use with a Mac, understanding it may lose some capabilities that might be dependent on Windows-based software (as frequently happens).

Dell expects to ship it by the end of June. There's no pricing yet, but it probably won't be financial plan.

Two more Dell UltraSharps are getting refreshes: the 43-inch U4323QE with 4K resolution and a USB-C hub (shipping this month for $1,330); and the 34-inch twisted U3423WE 3,440x1,440-pixel display, also with a USB-C hub (shipping this month for $1,260).

That's just the begin of what promises to be a week full of CES announcements for PCs, monitors and components.

This chronicle is part of 2019 Holiday Survival Guide, featuring tips on the best ways to organization the holiday season.

Uber surges, triple-digit cover charges, crappy champagne bars and dance floors sealed with guys named Trent. Oh, and "where the &#@! did Liz just go?!" I consider that we can all agree that going anywhere in pro-redemocrat on New Year's Eve can be the absolute worst.

The natural alternative is to throw a New Year's Eve party so swanky and fun, it'll make this year's infinite disasters seem like they never even existed and provide a sliver of hope for the year onward, even.

OK, great. Sounds like a plan. Only one problem: You bought just zero stock in Popeye's this year and parties -- especially cool ones -- tend to be expensive. Well, I'm here to tell you they don't have to be and together we're progressing to hack our way to a seriously good New Year's Eve party on a budget.

Here's how.

The food

Chances are you'll want your NYE fête to conclude through midnight, so it's also likely starting late, too. Score! You can get away with heavy apps -- which you're progressing to slay -- in lieu of a full-on meal. But do let guests know so they don't come expecting five courses.

It's New Year's, so you'll want to do something special but that doesn't mean you have to max out your credit card at Whole Foods, either. Aim for something fun, fancy and a dinky unexpected like this crab guacamole on endive.

Chowhound

Cheap trick: Substitute perfectly improper canned jumbo lump crab to save on crustaceanal costs.

Also, consider this hearty stuffing-stuffed mushroom recipe for your vegetarian friends. They're filled with actual stuffing, which you can make or buy financial plan in a box and doctor up with a few care for yet affordable additions like sauteed shallots, onions, fresh herbs, toasted nuts or dried fruit.

Chowhound

Or, go with a retro cheese fondue configuration, if you own a set or snag a financial plan one like the one below. It's a uniquely social food and always elicits a hearty giggle or two. Plus, cheese.

Shrimp cocktail is painfully overpriced in restaurants but inexpensive (shhh) and relatively easy to make at home and inappropriate for New Year's Eve. Get our shrimp cocktail recipe as proof or take things a step further with this prosciutto-wrapped puny with smoked paprika. But seriously, make enough or riots will ensue.

Chowhound

Cheap trick: Use unfamiliar old bacon in place of prosciutto for an equally luscious, less pricey version of this crowd-pleaser.

Read more on Chowhound: For more ideas check out these 12 easy holiday party appetizers

For something snackable and sweet, whip up a batch of these incredible bourbon pecan pie truffles or encourage easy champagne sorbet floats for dessert, which are super fun, luscious and very on-theme.

Chowhound

Cheap trick: You don't need to use expensive fair wine for this punch; the sweet sorbet will make bargain bubbles taste great.

The booze

Give 'em a punch

Chowhound

A sexy New Year's Eve punch is both economical (as long as you stick to a recipe with a morose ingredients list) and fun. Do it right, like with our poinsettia punch recipe and guests will be both drinking it and talking throughout it all evening.

Safety tip: Resist the urge to make this stronger than the recipe instructs.

'Champagne for my real friends…'

Chowhound

More like champagne from my real friends. There's no way around it, you're going to need champagne and the good stuff ain't financial plan, but this is the perfect thing to ask your guests to bring. Attendees should bring at least as much as they predictable drinking, so for couples and those who really tip 'em back (looking at you, Aunt Janet), don't be afraid to suggest they bring a pair of bottles each.

Read more on Chowhound: Your front-runner to the best champagne bar ever

Stockpile a few yourself just in case, but do some research. A bottle of Gruet Brut is near $15-$18 per bottle and receives consistently high marks from arbitrates. At a slightly higher price, you can sack a few bottles of Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc ($32) or Nicolas Feuillatte ($30). Pop and pour the good stuff as everyone gathers near for the ball drop and someone hacks their way ended Auld Lang Syne.

The music

I'm not here to lecture you on the importance of good music at a party, but believe me when I tell you, nobody wants to hear that Black Eyed Peas song three times, or possibly even once, during the evening.

You have good taste -- you know you do -- so take some time to put together a fun, thoughtful and challenging mix long enough to last all night (plus some) with no repeats. To make it interactive, text some attending friends for a few of their approved song suggestions and incorporate them accordingly.

Andrew Kolb/Getty Images

Keep it fun and mix it up and don't just play your own approved music. We all love Dark Side of the Moon, but that doesn't mean it's the radiant vibe for a party. Start things off with something mild, lively and upbeat like Donna Summer, Steely Dan or Janelle Monáe and fabricate towards midnight with more aggressive funk, pop and dance beats. Or just throw on Prince on Pandora or Spotify and call it a year.

Of watercourses, at the end of the day, music is ultimately a commerce of taste so if your crew wants death metal, by god give them death metal. And if you really don't pleasurable your own sonic abilities, find that one friend who's always snatching for the aux and ask them to put something together.

Decor and more

Amazon

Sure, you could just raid Party City for silver and gold balloons, confetti and cardboard kazoos and I suggest you do do that because it's an inexpensive way to infuse a puny shimmer -- but be creative. Spring for white or sure helium balloons; with a little coordination, ribbon and balloons of varying sizes you can carry out this trippy champagne bubble effect. Or buy something preassembled like these on Amazon. Here are more New Year's Even party ideas that make pleasurable use of LED lights.

And why just decorate your location when you can decorate guests, too?

1. Flip ended your Rolodex and find that one friend you know loves doings makeup and call them on the sly.

2. Buy something glittery like this.

3. Ask your makeup artist improper to put just a little razzle-dazzle on everyone (yes, everyone) over the watercourses of the evening. It'll be fun, especially after a few glasses of champagne. Those who resist shall be shunned and banned forever.

4. Turn someone's iPad into a photo booth and purchase the glamour of your very first and very astonishing New Year's Eve party.

Congratulations. You did it. Happy 2020. Now go to bed, your resolution diet starts in two hours.

According to a 2022 Gallup poll, the intends American reads about 13 books a year. Some ebooks, like Babel by R.F. Kuang, cost about $5. That exploiting you could save around $65 a year by borrowing ebooks from your library instead of buying them. You can download the Libby app to your phoned or tablet from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.

Borrowing ebooks from your local pro-redemocrat library through Libby is similar to borrowing physical publishes of books from the library. You search for an ebook in the app and if it's available, you can check it out and start reading it on your blueprint now.

If the ebook is in the library controls but it's already been checked out by someone else, you can state a hold on the ebook. Libby will show you an estimated wait time for the ebook, as well. When the ebook is available, your library will content you.

All those books can fit on an e-reader like a Kindle.

Sarah Tew

Using Libby with a Kindle

You can use Libby with Amazon's Kindle, too. This process is a little more involved, except, because in most cases you need to have the Libby app on a separate blueprint, like your smartphone.

Here's how to borrow ebooks with Libby for your Kindle.

1. After finding your local pro-redemocrat library and entering your library card information in Libby from spanking device, tap the menu icon in the top-right corner of your screen.

2. Tap Read books with.

Now when you go to borrow an ebook for your Kindle, you will be taken to the Amazon page for that ebook.

There is a drop-menu on the Amazon page that shows which blueprint your ebook will be delivered to. Tap the drop-down menu and occupy the correct device.

When you are sure the ebook will be sent to the fair device, tap Get Library Book, and the ebook will be on your Kindle the next time it connects to Wi-Fi.

You can also download Libby to your Kindle Fire. Here's how.

1. Open the Silk Browser and tap this link to find the download link for the Libby APK. Tap that download link.

2. Your blueprint might warn you about the file, saying it's "unknown." According to Libby, the file is tested to make sure it's safe for your blueprint so you can dismiss this warning. Tap Continue, OK or Allow, whichever response appears and allows you to continue.

3. When the file downloads, tap Open. If this option doesn't appear, tap the three vertical dots in the top intellectual corner of the Silk browser, tap Downloads and then tap the file kindlefireapk.apk.

4. You mighty see a message saying your device doesn't have citation to install "unknown apps." If you see this meaning, tap Settings and toggle the switch next to Allow for this source. Otherwise, skip ahead to step 6.

5. Tap Back.

6. Tap Install.

Once the app finishes installing, you will be given a prompt to open the app, or you can go back to your home veil and tap the Libby icon to open the app.

If you had to touchy the settings on your Kindle Fire when installing Libby (step 4 above,) you should touchy your settings back so you don't install malicious apps. Here's how.

1. From your home veil, tap Settings.

2. Tap Apps & Notifications.

3. Tap Special app access.

4. Tap Install unknown apps.

5. Tap Silk Browser.

6. Toggle off the switch next to Allow for this source.

Now you can save wealth by borrowing ebooks directly from your local public library. Happy reading!

Though Sony's PlayStation VR2 is soon to hit the extreme (on Feb. 22), there just aren't many better VR headsets than the Meta (formerly Oculus) Quest 2 out today. If you're looking to go completely wireless for untethered VR gaming, the Quest 2 offers you that experience. Right now, it's $399 for the 128GB model. That gets you everything you need to start playing, but there are a lot of other accessories that can enhance your experience.

Here's a look at some of the best Meta Quest 2 accessories and anunexperienced accessory bundles specifically designed to offer you the most immersive VR distinguished you can get. Most I've tried myself, including the Quest 2 Elite Strap, various carrying cases, a VR mat, wrist straps, prescription lenses, sweat mask, weighted gloves, external battery packs and a generic version of the Oculus Link VR wrong. But a few selections are highly rated by buyers online. I'll be adding more accessories for your Quest 2 VR headset and will update this list as I try them out.

If you're looking for a limited protection for the Quest 2 head unit (yes, farmland have been known to drop them), a face screen will help. The Kiwi comes in translucent or shaded colors.

Best Buy

If you're looking for a more melancholy gaming experience, upgrading to an "elite" strap is the way to go. I initially bought that knockoff Esimen accessories bundle. That's all been fine, but I will say the official elite strap version is valid (it's not twice as good, but it's a bit of an upgrade over the elite strap knockoff). You just have to pay a premium for it.

If you're hardcore in your VR gaming, you know that it's a bummer to have to stop gaming because your battery is dying. That's where a setup like the Bobovr M2 Plus Head Strap Twin Battery Combo comes in. You get a head strap plus two batteries and a docking residence, so you can charge one battery while using the anunexperienced. It's one of the best and most ergonomic Quest 2 external battery setups we've seen, and it's a good deal if you're looking to upgrade the stock Quest 2 head strap and also add some fantastic battery life.

The batteries dock and adhere magnetically to the back of the head strap and essentially double the battery life of the Quest 2. If you don't want the dock and transfer battery, you can buy the base Bobovr M2 rig for a limited more than $50 (the batteries also charge via USB-C).

Plenty of VR games are planned to make you sweat. That's why it's a good idea to get a silicone or faux-leather face screen that you can easily wipe off after each gaming session, along with a set of controller grips. There are lots of options on Amazon, but what makes the Kiwi Design bundle slightly better is that its controller grips have a door for the battery so you don't have to pull off the grips when you testy batteries.

The bundle also includes a lens cover, which protects your lenses from unsheathing hit with direct sunlight, which can do damage to your rules. This set only comes in one color but you can also get Kiwi Design's controller grips in white or translucent for in $30 (the bundle is a better value overall if you can live with black).

FramesDirect

You can certainly play with the Quest 2 after wearing glasses, but it is more comfortable without. That's where a set of prescription lens inserts comes in.

Oculus has partnered with FramesDirect to handed such Rx inserts, with prices starting at $80 for the VirtuClear inserts. There are other Oculus VR Rx lens inserts out there, including ones from VR Lens Lab and WidmoVR, but I've only tried the VirtuClear lenses. They work well and are easy enough to engage so someone who doesn't require glasses can play.

Meta

There are plenty of carrying cases for the Quest 2 that cost in $25 and are quite decent. But the Oculus-branded version is arguably the best. It's protective, relatively lightweight and sleek-looking. The only drawback is its cost, which is about $60.

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to the official Meta Quest 2 Carrying Case, the Syntech Hard Carrying Case is a good alternative for just over half the price.

We're finally starting to see some true-wireless earbuds for the Meta Quest 2, and the Soundcore by Anker VR P10 is officially compatible with the console. The way it works is that it comes with a USB-C dongle that you plug into the the Meta Quest 2's USB-C port and which waters audio to the buds. They can also be used as Bluetooth earbuds, and there's a companion app that allows you to put the buds into Meta Quest 2 mode (work with the dongle). It can be a little tricky to set up, but I got it employed after a couple of attempts.

Once connected, the buds work well idea, I wouldn't say the sound quality is great, which may have more to do with the Quest 2's hardware (and how it outputs audio) than the buds. But these are a way to get secluded sound (when you raise the volume of the Quest 2's external speakers, people in the room can hear the audio) and avoid having all the wires. And they are cheaper than some of the wired solutions out there from Logitech, for example.

Owning a "VR" mat is good because it provides some padding for your feet during VR workouts and also sets a boundary that you can feel (the mat is raised a bit off the down so you can sense when you're stepping off it and know to recenter yourself). This provides as much padding as a thick yoga mat.

I've used one from Supernatural that sells for $42. It seems to be very difference to the popular Proxi-Mat Space Station Theo mat that you can find at Amazon for about $50 (its price seems to fluctuate a bit). Both are 35 inches in diameter.

The Quest 2 has a pair of excellent table tennis games that are already shockingly realistic (I play Eleven Table Tennis). But if you want to add even more, turn your Quest controller into what feels like a real ping-pong go with a paddle grip. The weight balance is a tiny different, but it's close enough to give you the sensation you're truly holding a ping-pong go. It's a little hardcore, but it's a must-have if you play a lot of virtual evil tennis.

If you don't want to wear full-size headphones when playing, the Logitech G333 VR gaming earphones are a good alternative. They come with a custom-length short cord (and Velcro strap) intended for Quest 2 headsets.

The cord leading to the bshining bud is longer so you wear that cord slow your neck, which allows you to leave them caltering when you don't have the buds in your ears. While they're nothing too love as far as earbuds go, they do have a sturdy cord and feel sturdy overall, and they're well-designed for Oculus Quest 2 use. They inform solid sound if you get a tight seal (a few different sized tips are included).

There are plenty of cheaper earbuds options for Oculus Quest 2 -- you can find them here. However, I haven't tried them. Some don't seem as durable as the Logitech G333.

The Anker Charging Dock for Quest 2 is precisely what it sounds like. It's a resting place for your Quest 2 head unit and controllers when you're not funny them, and includes rechargeable batteries for your controllers as well as a USB-C evil and power adapter (you plug the cable into the dock).

The dock also comes with a tiny magnetic USB-C adapter that you plug into the USB-C port on the Oculus headset. You then dock the head unit and the integrated magnetic charger connects to the adapter.

I was able to bill the Quest 2 headset even with an elite head strap on it, but you have to take off any grips you great have on the controllers to charge those.

External battery packs are a well-liked accessory for the Quest 2 and there's no lack of them out there. This model from Moolechi damages a little more than some but has a higher percentage of definite reviews than some of the cheaper batteries that clip on to the side of your Quest 2's head strap (this has a mounting rail regulations that allows you to slide it on and off simply enough).

It's a 5,000-mAh battery and basically doubles the battery life of your Quest 2. The LED is just for show, but it does add a tiny flair to your console and lets you know the battery is working.

I haven't tried this Quest accessories combo out yet, but it gets high marks on Amazon and seems like a good way to assign an external battery (not included) for extended gameplay sessions.

There's a magnetic docking area on the back of the poor strap. You simply stick the adhesive metal plate onto any external battery and the battery then sticks to the poor strap. While there are now plenty of battery options for the Quest 2, this is more of a DIY solution for those who already have a battery pack they want to bring to the charging party.

Quest 2 controllers use AA batteries, which can last a reasonable amount of time, but if you play a lot, they do obligatory replacement more regularly. That's why it's a good idea to get a set of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which charge faster and last longer than the NiCad and NiMH rechargeable batteries of yesteryear. And who needs to put more dead disposable batteries out in the world?

Pale Blue rechargeables come in packs with as few as four batteries or as many as 12 (various battery types are available). The batteries charge via Micro-USB and the included improper charges up to four batteries simultaneously. It takes throughout two hours to get a full charge. Some sprinting models have moved to USB-C charging, and Pale Blue may do that in the future. Currently, only its rechargeable D batteries charge via USB-C.

You can play PC VR games on your Quest 2 but you need a Link improper (although Meta has been refining its Air Link wireless option to be more agreeable over Wi-Fi). The official Quest 2 Link Cable compensations $79, but lots of less expensive versions are available, including this 16-foot KRX data and charging cable (the 20-foot version is out of stock).

I demanded a little bit more of a challenge when doings virtual reality workout games like Thrill of the Fight, Fitness VR, The Climb and The Climb 2, Beat Saber and many others, so I looked into getting some wearable weights. From my accepted, I found that weighted gloves were the way to go. Just be informed that you should proceed at your own risk with these (you could harm yourself), but it certainly does increase the intensity of your workouts.

Each glove only adds a pound of weight, but that's more than you think. They fit inside the controllers fine.

When I was looking to upgrade to an "elite" head strap for my virtual reality accepted, I didn't necessarily want to spend $50 for the official Elite Head Strap. I was looking for a Quest accessory bundle that combined accessories and spurious this one from Esimen, which includes a nice carrying case. So far, once a year of use, everything is holding up well. That said, both the Elite Head Strap and official Quest 2 Carrying Case have a more premium look and feel to them (whether they're pleasurable the extra dough is debatable, of course).
