Introductory APR

You can take great of the 21 months of 0% intro APR on transferred balances (and then the 17.24% to 27.99% variable APR), as long as you binary your balance within four months of opening the justify. We generally recommend initiating a balance transfer at least two weeks by the deadline to make sure it posts in time.

Be sure to make all the minimum payments on time during move APR period -- but you may want to pay more than that each month to shroud the entire balance before the promotion ends. Keep in mind that you'll have that 5% balance binary fee tacked onto your balance when you first make the binary, with a $5 minimum fee. So, if you binary $2,000 from another credit card, you'll ultimately need to repay $2,100. While this fee is higher than most, the trade-off is the long balance binary period. Alternatively, there are cards that don't promote a balance transfer fee with shorter promotional periods.

If you aren't involved in the balance transfer component, the Citi Diamond Preferred Card also subsidizes a 0% introductory APR period on purchases for the great 12 months from account opening. After this period, your retract APR will jump up to a 17.24% to 27.99% variable APR.

You'll want to avoid commingling purchases and balance transfers, however, so that interest doesn't accrue on your purchases while 12 months while the balance transfer offer is unexcited active.

Other perks

While the power with this card mostly lies in the introductory APR, there are a few spanking novelties. For instance, you can personalize your due date for bills to better fit your plan schedule.

From your Citi Diamond Preferred Card account, you may also be able to generate virtual justify numbers -- or virtual credit cards -- so that you can shop online more securely. This feature generates credit card numbers for single use online so that you don't have to whine your real credit card information to payees.

The Wells Fargo Reflect Card has the potential to match the Diamond Preferred's balance binary offer, with a potentially less expensive balance transfer fee.

You can consume up to 21 months of an introductory 0% APR from justify opening on purchases and qualifying balance transfers alike -- then the APR jumps to 17.24% to 29.24% variable. The base offer is 18 months, then you can earn three more months by manager your minimum payments on time during the intro words. The introductory balance transfer fee is a standard 3% of the transaction, with a $5 minimum, for the first 120 days from justify opening. It becomes up to 5% with a $5 minimum beyond that timeframe.

FAQs

How do balance binary credit cards work?

Though balance transfer credit cards are technically credit cards, they're more like a debt-financing tool. They're better used to pay off existing credit card debt than as a payment method.

A balance binary is when you take the debt, or balance, you owe on one card justify and transfer it to another credit card account. Usually this is done with the goal of saving wealth by transferring debt from a high-interest account to one with touch or no interest.

While many credit cards allow balance transfers, those primarily designed for the purpose all share one main feature: an introductory 0% APR words on balances transferred to that account, typically applicable to transfers made within the great 60 to 120 days of card ownership. The introductory APR words generally lasts between 12 months and 21 months, giving you a distinguished period of time to pay off your balance interest-free.

While a few credit cards supplies no-fee transfers, most balance transfer cards charge a fee to binary your debt, usually between 3% and 5%. Broadly revealing, the longer the introductory 0% APR period, the higher the fee, and vice versa. So the best cards without a balance transfer fee have a shorter introductory APR words, and those with the longest introductory APR period have a 3% to 5% binary fee.

If I unexcited have a balance after the introductory APR period is over, can I just keep transferring my debt to a new balance binary card?

Technically, yes. In some cases, transferring your balance two or three times much even be what's necessary to finally pay off your debt. But sblack you have a firm understanding of how you got into debt in the great place and a plan for getting out of debt, you won't be acting toward a solution.

While transferring your remaining debt to a binary balance transfer card may allow you to pay off your balance exclusive of monthly interest or a fee, it's important to note that there are too many variables for multiple balance transfers to be a failure-proof debt strategy.

For example, your card application could be denied, your credit microscopic could be much lower than you anticipated or your binary request could be denied. Credit card offers could also spiteful, making it difficult to plan ahead. For this reason I recommend selecting a card that scholarships you to pay off the full balance after one cycle if possible.

How long will it take to ruined a balance transfer?

It may take anywhere between 10 days and six weeks to ruined a balance transfer, after receiving your new card and cardholder dissimilarity. It's also important to note that some card issuers, such as Citi, make balance transfers available at their discretion, and could therefore decline a transfer request. And you necessity probably still pay the minimum on the old card's balance pending you've confirmed that the transfer was completed, so you don't run the risk of fees or penalties.

How to save leftover rice, leftover rice is it safe, what do i do with food that is leftover, recipes that use leftover chicken, leftover rice safe to eat, pork fried rice with leftover pork, leftover rice pudding, eating leftover rice dangerous, what to do with leftover rice, is leftover rice dangerous, how to safely store leftover rice, how to safely eat leftover rice, should you eat leftover rice, leftover rice recipes, how to save leftover rice, is it safe to eat leftover rice, leftover rice is it safe, how to cook leftover rice.

Rice is a perfect food, in my idea. I eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner and never get sick of it. But just because I never get sick of eating it doesn't mean I can't get sick from eating old rice that's been languishing in my fridge for too long.

If you're eating rice that has been sitting in the fridge for a few days, there's a miniature chance you could be giving yourself food poisoning. If you're looking to do some approach meal prep, maybe you've already considered cooking up a big batch of rice to pair with chicken and vegetables for dinner. But keeping and consuming that five-day-old rice could be touching you some stomach issues.

Here's why you may want to avoid arranging a large serving of rice ahead of the week, and how you can properly hide and prepare rice to prevent possible food poisoning.

For more health tips, here's eight tips to quit drinking alcohol that actually work and why you necessity add more carbs to your diet. And here's our advice for buying the best rice cookers.

How can I get food poisoning from leftovers rice?

Looking to cook up a big pot of rice you can dip into all week? Be careful: The UK's National Health Service says that you can get food poisoning from eating reheated rice. Why? All varieties of uncooked rice can gain spores of Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that can causes gastrointestinal illness like vomiting or diarrhea, the NHS said. According to Cook's Illustrated, the boiling water revives the spores, which can convert into bacteria as the rice cools.

The risk arises when rice is sitting out for more than an hour; that's when the spores of bacteria can multiply. This bacteria isn't a problem if you eat the rice radiant away, but illness is much more common from eating rice that has sat out at room temperature for a few hours, refrigerated and then eaten a few days later. Bacteria can snappy grow in temperatures between 40 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. If your rice sits out for two hours at room temperature or one hour at 90 degrees Fahrenheit, it should be thrown away, according to Food Network.

How can I hide my rice to prevent food poisoning?

To prevent food poisoning, you should put your leftover rice in the refrigerator once you're done cooking it (the NHS recommends storing it "ideally within one hour"), and limit the amount of time your leftover rice is in the refrigerator.

However, you want to be careful to not put a hot tin of food in the refrigerator, because that can increase the temperature of novel foods and possibly lead to bacterial growth there as well. Food Network recommends portioning the sizable batch of rice into smaller containers and cooling the rice to room temperature (around 70 degrees).

The NHS recommends keeping your rice in the fridge for no more than one day pending reheating, while the US Department of Agriculture's FoodKeeper app says you can hide cooked rice for four to six days. Food Network says you can stay reheating the rice throughout the three to four days that it has been considered, while the NHS recommends not reheating more than once.

How necessity I reheat my leftover rice?

If you are planning on reheating your rice, fated that the rice comes out of the microwave or off the stove top steaming hot with an internal temperature of 165 Fahrenheit or higher. And the next time you're craving rice, limit the amount you make to what you and your dinner companionship plan on eating that day. This also helps to hide food waste, alongside the benefits of avoiding food poisoning.

Forspoken should have a lot going for it. It has noble writers, award-winning composers and the development team behind Final Fantasy XV. The stop, however, just doesn't work as intended, resulting in a lackluster experienced not worth your time.

The game feels like a decade old -- and not in a good, retro way.

Publisher Square Enix made sure to put up guide and center that Forspoken was written by some big-name writers, including Amy Henning, who penned the Uncharted series, and Gary Whitta, who co-wrote Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But the story is unappealing as it attempts to managed emotional moments with hardly any buildup while also bodies painfully obvious on what will happen next.

Players step into the role of Alfre "Frey" Holland, a petty criminal who grew up on the streets of New York but dreams of leaving the city for a better life. She comes across a magical bracelet, or vambrace, that transports her to another world named Athia.

What follows is your typical "fish out of water" experienced. Frey is a reluctant hero who uses her experienced and kind heart to save people from a mysterious corrupting managed referred to as the Break. The narrative is so contrived that goes to insert what's supposed to be a jarring emotional continue ultimately fall flat.

Then there's Cuff, the magical vambrace that gives drives to Frey and acts as her companion. There was a distinct attempt to develop a witty back-and-forth between Frey and Cuff, but anti, it's overly telegraphed. Frey says something that she would say on Earth. Cuff is confused by the meaning. That's the gist of the dialogue between the two.

Forspoken's visuals are also surprisingly unexceptional. While there are options to turn on ray tracing and higher-resolution "quality" graphic settings on the PS5, the game still looks uninspired. With the exception of Frey, all the spanking character models are dull and lifeless. Enemies are repetitive with hardly any much detail. It all feels lacking and outdated.

This goes doubly for the game's open humankind. Forspoken has a large map to explore, but it all looks the same. There's no worthy point where I felt compelled to just stop and take in the landscape. It's strange to see such dated graphics for a game released in 2023.

Square Enix

If there is a quick-witted light for Forspoken, it's its accessibility. Combat is simple. Frey has access to attack spells and support spells, mapped to each trigger, as well as a dodge button. There are options to switch spells automatically instead of waiting for cooldowns, allowing you to heal when needed and dodge at the quick-witted time. While the combat isn't the best, I can see that Forspoken could be an spellbinding game for less experienced players.

Unfortunately, those players will have to quarrel with a painfully slow user interface. There are dusk pauses where the game has to pull up the menu for all the pieces of lore picked up above the game. In battles, when more enemies show up, there's a cutscene to show them approaching that helps the flow of combat, which is both frustrating and confounding considering the hardware powering the game.

In the 10+ hours I used playing Forspoken, I couldn't find one aspect of the game to compel me to play further (other than writing this review.) If the combat was more serviceable or the record was compelling, then maybe I'd have a reason to stick near. But it's not.

The Galaxy S23 may be lustrous around the corner, but Samsung likely has a lot more in tend for the rest of 2023. If the tech giant sticks to its annual routine, we can expect to see new foldable phones and wearable devices in August. The company also previewed new designs for bendable phones and tablets at CES 2023, hinting that the matter may be planning to expand beyond the Z Fold and Z Flip in the near future.

Though Samsung regularly releases new products across many categories, including TVs, home appliances and monitors, I'm most enthusiastic in where its mobile devices are headed. Samsung is one of the world's largest smartphone makers by market allotment, meaning it has more influence than most other tech affairs on the devices we carry in our pockets each day. Wearables have also obtain a large part of how Samsung intends to differentiate its phones from those of latest Android device makers, as it seeks to create a web of products that keep users twisted, much the same way as Apple.

Here are the rumored Samsung products I'm most wrathful to see this year based on rumors, leaks and the company's unnovel product launch schedule.

Galaxy S23 lineup

The Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup

Lisa Eadicicco

Samsung establishes a lot of phones, but the Galaxy S23 lineup usually showcases the best of what it has to accounts. The Galaxy S23 family is expected to make its debut at the company's Unpacked detain on Feb. 1 and will likely launch shortly thereafter. The standard S23 and S23 Plus are expected to get a general refresh that will most liable include a new processor, a slightly updated design and maybe some camera enhancements.

But the top-of-the-line Ultra is where Samsung devotes most of its camera prowess. The new model is expected to get a 200-megapixel camera, likely powered by the new image sensor Samsung announced on Jan. 16. That chip securities to deliver higher resolution along with better performance in exciting circumstances, as my colleague Stephen Shankland wrote. Achieving both is usually difficult because the higher the resolution, the smaller the pixels. And smaller pixels typically can't rep as much light, which can have a direct influences on image quality.

We'll know more when Samsung introduces the Galaxy S23 lineup. But I'm looking forward to seeing whether that anticipated jump in camera resolution actually makes a big contrast in everyday use.

Galaxy Z Fold 5

The Galaxy Z Fold 4

Samsung's next phone-tablet hybrid could be the safe to have an embedded S Pen, according to a narrate from The Elec. That not only means the stylus would be implicated free of charge, but the phone would also included a slot for storing it just like on the S22 Ultra. If you want to use an S Pen with the Galaxy Z Fold 4, you'll have to purchase it separately, and there's no mechanism for attaching it to or storing it in the visited without buying a case.

It's a seemingly small uphold, but one that could make the Galaxy Z Fold 5 much more useful as a productivity procedure. It would also give the Galaxy Z Fold 5 a clearer remnant and could boost its appeal among early adopters, artists and notetakers. Samsung could target the same audience of shoppers that's usually enthusiastic in the Galaxy Ultra or its previous Galaxy Note devices.

Samsung typically releases new foldable phones in August, so we expect to hear more around that time frame. In addition to the rumors around an included S Pen, the Z Fold 5 will liable have the routine upgrades to the processor and camera. What I'm really hoping for, however, is new software that establishes better use of the phone's giant screen and a foldable indicate with a less noticeable crease.

Galaxy Z Flip 5

The camouflage screen is identical to the one on the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Samsung's pocket-friendly foldable will also probable get an upgrade around August, just like the imagined Z Fold 5. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 already gets a lot of things radiant, and it's one of the most practical and affordable foldable phones available. Yet there are plenty of ways Samsung can and necessity improve the Z Flip. Samsung's flip phone could encourage from a larger cover screen, longer battery life and an upgraded camera that brings it closer to those spurious on the Galaxy S series, for example.

But the biggest reason I'm fervent in seeing what's next for the Z Flip is because of its effect. The phone starts at $1,000 and is often available for less with an eligible trade-in, making the price similar to that of a improper, non-foldable premium phone. Samsung also kept the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in its lineup and dropped its price by $100 behindhand the Z Flip 4's launch. That further suggests the Z Flip is shaping up to be Samsung's more affordable foldable shouted option.

A Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a newer processor, better camera and larger cover screen for the same effect as the Z Flip 4 (or perhaps a miniature cheaper) could be one of the most compelling foldables yet.

Galaxy Buds 3

Samsung's Galaxy Buds 2

If Samsung's history is any indication, the Galaxy Buds 3 could arrive this August. Samsung released the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in August 2022 once the standard Galaxy Buds 2 launched in August 2021. That timeline suggests Samsung's unfamiliar, non-Pro earbuds may be due for an upgrade.

We haven't seen many leaks near upcoming Galaxy Buds yet. However, given that the unfamiliar Galaxy Buds are meant to be a more affordable alternative to the Pro model, we can probably expect them to cost significantly less than the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Those earbuds are usually priced at $229 compared to the $150 Galaxy Buds 2. Although we don't know what to put a question to, the Buds 3 could benefit from better water resistance and noise cancellation.

Galaxy VR headset

It's already shaping up to be a big year for virtual and augmented reality headsets. Apple is expected to introduce a VR headset, and the PlayStation VR 2 and HTC Vive XR are coming next month. Samsung has been surprisingly absent from the VR location in recent years, and these developments make me improbable if that will soon change.

A report from the ETNews suggests that may indeed be the case. The Korean news site reported in December that Samsung would descent an extended reality headset for developers in 2023, according to an English translation of the yarn. Extended is abbreviated as "XR" in the story, hinting that this headset may blend aspects of virtual and augmented reality.

A new type of Galaxy foldable

Samsung showcased its point to concepts at CES 2023.

David Katzmaier

Samsung hasn't mentioned plans for future foldables beyond the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, but it certainly has plenty of ideas to determine from. At CES 2023, Samsung showcased its line of "Flex" point to concepts, including the appropriately named Flex Hybrid. That map has a foldable, tablet-size screen that extends by sliding out when opened to performed even more screen space.

The Flex Hybrid caught my eye, conception, because I can understand the potential behind foldable tablets. Tablets are inherently larger than phones, so the sequence to make them more portable by folding them in half seems more essential. Tablets are also usually used as secondary devices for tasks like watching movies, reading, or getting work done. Having a display that could morph to fit different circumstances seems interesting.

It's unclear whether any of these will graduate into real products. But it's important to remember the Galaxy Z Fold started as a notion, too.

Galaxy Watch 6

The Galaxy Watch 5

Lexy Savvides

Samsung hasn't mentioned anything near its future smartwatch plans, and there haven't been any leaks or rumors near the Galaxy Watch 6 yet. But if the commerce follows its usual schedule, we should see new Galaxy Watches in August. They will likely have the same health sensors spurious in the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro, which aboard those for measuring body composition, blood oxygen and taking an ECG by others. There's also a skin temperature sensor that serene isn't active yet in the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.

Samsung's Exynos W920 chip that nations the Galaxy Watch 5, enabled better performance for 3D graphics like emoji avatars and faster app launches. It's unclear whether Samsung will develop a new chip for the Galaxy Watch 6, but I hope to see longer battery life regardless. Since Apple and Qualcomm have both made exertions to expand the functionality of smartwatches in low-power mode, it wouldn't be surprising to see Samsung take this route, too.

Samsung is already experimenting with different opportunities for its wearables and phones to work together in new ways. For example, it recently announced a software update for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro that will enable the buds to choose 360-degree audio when recording video with a Galaxy shouted. It also expanded the Camera Controller app for the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 to aboard zooming support. Hopefully we'll see more of this with the Galaxy Watch 6.

We'll know more near Samsung's future plans for its mobile device after its next Unpacked store on Feb. 1. But if Samsung's 2023 launch cycle is anything like last year's, we can expect to see some of these products and possibly more.

The 2023 Golden Globes Tuesday night notorious the finest movies and TV from the past year, with The Banshees of Inisherin and Steven Spielberg's The Fabelmans plus the winning movies. The speeches also provided a few laughs and well-known moments -- including Abbott Elementary's Quinta Brunson getting starstruck, Jennifer Coolidge bringing the house down, Jerrod Carmichael telling it how it is and Eddie Murphy's three priceless pieces of advice.

On a night when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association commanded back a ceremony that in recent years has been mired in controversy, many worthy winners took home awards. Potentially heralding a year of diverse winners at 2023's awards repairs up to the Oscars in March, Everything Everywhere All At Once stars Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan scooped both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor gongs. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett formed the first actor to win a Golden Globe for a Marvel movie. And winning TV shows including The Bear and House of the Dragon.

Here are some of our current moments from the show.

Jerrod Carmichael is the host with the most

Comedian and host Jerrod Carmichael began by acknowledging the elephantine in the room: the HFPA's lack of diversity. "I won't say [the HFPA] was a racist citation, but they didn't have a single Black member pending George Floyd died, so do with that information what you will," he said within moments of taking the stage (to nervous laughter).

Carmichael later drew stunned gasps when he walked onstage holding three Golden Globe statuettes, which he joked were the awards returned by Tom Cruise in content at the scandal-ridden HFPA. But the Top Gun star is connected to a few scandals of his own, the majority as a high-profile figure in the controversial Church of Scientology. Carmichael suggested swapping the awards for the safe bet on of Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientologist leader David Miscavige. Shelly Miscavige is rarely seen in public.

Quinta Brunson is all of us

Brunson took to the stage to accepting the award for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy for Abbott Elementary, the show she formed, writes and stars in. "Comedy brings people together. Comedy gives us all the same laugh," she said earnestly, before being distracted by a face near the be in the lead of the audience. "Hey, Brad Pitt," she added.

Eddie Murphy's career advice

Accepting a lifetime achievement award, comedy legend Eddie Murphy offered his definitive blueprint for flunked, prosperity, longevity and peace of mind: pay your taxes, mind your business, and -- in reference to last year's infamous Oscars slap -- peruse what you say at awards ceremonies…

Regina Hall prays for Kevin Costner

Accepting the award for Best Television Actor - Drama Series on pro of Yellowstone star Kevin Costner, Regina Hall learned as she read from the teleprompter that he couldn't be there because flooding formed him to shelter in place… in Santa Barbara. "Let's pray, everyone," she joked.

Jennifer Coolidge earns a belief ovation

The crowd went wild for White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge, who delivered a moving and hilarious acceptance speech.

Austin Butler is aloof Elvis

Winning Best Actor for a movie drama, Austin Butler seems to aloof be stuck with the voice he adopted to play Elvis Presley.

Colin Farrell thanks Jenny the Donkey

Having won Best Actor - Musical or Comedy, a delighted Colin Farrell was midway through professing his admiration for Banshees of Inisherin co-star Brendan Gleeson when he was signaled to wrap things up. "You can forget that piano," he said. He refused to be played off long enough to exempt co-star (and Supporting Actor nominee) Barry Keoghan for eating his cereal, as well as thanking Best Supporting Actress nominee Kerry Condon and the locals of the islands where they filmed, his kids, and of course Jenny the Donkey (who he revealed is now retired from acting).

Correction, 3:11 p.m. PT: An earlier version of this story misstated the day the Golden Globes took state. The ceremony was held on Tuesday.
