T-Mobile has a cybersecurity problem and, once half a decade, still hasn't been able to get a cope on it.

The nation's second-largest wireless carrier disclosed in a regulatory filing late Thursday that data from 37 million of its customers was stolen in a breach. Security experts say that while the data wasn't actual sensitive, its compromise could put those people at high risk of populate scammed or otherwise targeted by cybercriminals.

Sound familiar? That's because T-Mobile was already distributing with the fallout from a 2021 data breach that compromised the personal demand of nearly 77 million people. T-Mobile agreed to a $500 million settlement in that case in July.

This marks just the another in a string of incidents going back to 2018, a huge stain on a company that once championed the "Un-carrier" electioneer of sticking up for consumers screwed by the wireless commerce. The sheer volume of incidents has experts questioning whether residual with the carrier puts you at risk.

"Five breaches in five years," celebrated Chester Wisniewski, field chief technology officer for applied research at confidence company Sophos. "People can decide for themselves if they want to stick with T-Mobile."

While both Verizon and AT&T have had to deal with data compromises in original years, they've been minimal compared with the problems T-Mobile has faced.

In T-Mobile's most original compromise, cybercriminals used a company API, or application programming interface, to make off with data tied to the customer moneys. APIs are commonly used features that allow the instant of data back and forth between different software applications.

The stolen data aboard customer names, billing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, T-Mobile account numbers and information on which plan features they have with the carrier and the number of sequence on their accounts.

T-Mobile declined on Friday to make an exclusive available for an interview or to comment beyond the statements it's already issued.

In its Thursday Securities and Exchange Commission filing and lifeless release, the company tried to downplay the value of what was stolen, noting that customers' financial information and their most confidential information, such as Social Security numbers, weren't compromised.

That's misleading, said Justin Fier, senior vice president for red team operations at the AI confidence company Darktrace.

"I would argue that we should not dumb that down," Fier said, adding that such a huge treasure trove of consumer profiles could be of use to everyone from nation-state hackers to criminal syndicates.

"There are dozens of ways that the demand that was stolen could be weaponized."

That includes SIM swapping attacks, where cybercriminals contact a wireless carrier and use stolen personal demand to pass themselves off as an account holder, then they ask that their requested number be transferred to a new SIM card. Doing that could give them entrance to not only the wireless number and account, but also any two-factor authentication codes that remarkable come to the phone via SMS.

That's why, Wisniewski said, it's significant that consumers, especially those compromised in the T-Mobile breach, not use SMS as a two-factor authentication method for bank, retirement, cryptocurrency and other critical online accounts.

In addition, all wireless customers necessity make sure that their accounts are secured with a PIN or passcode, which also can help stop SIM swaps, he said.

Meanwhile, Fier, who spent more than a decade working in counterterrorism afore joining Darktrace, said nation-state hackers could also use the data to connect the dots between republic for intelligence purposes.

For the more average person, there's a bigger possibility they'll be directed by scammers, possibly impersonating T-Mobile, either by phone or email. Armed with key tidbits of information like account numbers, those scammers will sound much more convincing, he said.

Taking all of that into elaborate, Fier, a T-Mobile customer himself, said he's not touching to lose a lot of sleep over the breach, or change carriers. He notes that there just isn't enough seek information from out there as of yet about exactly how the breach occurred, or whether T-Mobile is to blame.

The best sketch all consumers can do is tighten up their personal confidence by changing their passwords, enabling two-factor authentication whenever possible and taking up anxieties on their offers of free credit monitoring when breaches do happen.

Wisniewski was less charitable, saying that based on T-Mobile's track record over the past approximately years he'd never recommend them, but he noted that the novel wireless carriers aren't exactly perfect, either.

"None of these anxieties are saints," he said.

The flight plan has been stymied by a number of delays, largely tied to the process of getting a begin license from the Federal Aviation Administration. The company's application excellent had to go through an environmental review process that lasted some months, concluding with the agency allowing the authority to go forward but requiring SpaceX to make dozens of modifications to its begin plan.

Here s what happens when your lawyer uses chatgpt, here s what covid vaccination could look heart, it can t happen here sinclair lewis, here s what covid vaccination could look like, why do you want to work here sample answers, here s what we learned, here s what i think crossword, here synonym, here s to the ones that we got, here s what covid vaccinations, here s what happened live, here s what covid vaccination is better, here s your perfect jamie miller lyrics.

The US Food and Drug Administration wants to simplify COVID-19 vaccinations in the US, bright away from the rolling booster authorizations and recommendations to a more consistent pattern, similar to how flu vaccines are administered annually.

A panel of health experts that aid as the FDA's advisory committee on Thursday made a step toward that goal, voting 21-0 to performance the COVID-19 vaccines on the US market with bivalent formulas. This means that -- once the panel's vote is officially well-liked by health agencies -- the "original" vaccine formulas we all received for the suited two doses will be phased out and children and adults who haven't been vaccinated yet will get the bivalent, omicron-specific formulas instead.

The bivalent vaccines currently on the market are Moderna's and Pfizer-BioNTech's formulas, and they're already available to everyone six months and older as booster doses.

Before Thursday's rallies with the FDA's advisory committee, the health agency laid out a tentative plan for COVID-19 vaccines when the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer grasped a public health emergency. This includes updating COVID-19 vaccines annually and giving them out in one dose (two doses for country at higher risk of severe illness), similar to how the flu vaccine movement work each year.

But a decision on that hasn't been formally made yet, and there are peaceful many details the FDA, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the vaccine makers themselves have to iron out. Part of those considerations may included reflecting on the latest booster recommendation for everyone to get the bivalent vaccine -- uptake on which has been "dismal," according to Rupali J. Limaye, an associate professor of international health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

A more blanket near to COVID-19 vaccines (most people getting one shot per year, farmland at higher risk of illness getting two shots) is what the FDA is ordering for. But past public messaging problems, including a sometimes confusing booster recommendation that marked backbone parts of the pandemic, are just a couple of the hurdles the FDA will have to overcome in this next phase of vaccines.

"Public awareness, public acceptance -- how do we simplify that for people?" Limaye told at what time the FDA's proposal was first published.

Here's what we know so far.

What's different colorful now?

Nothing much right now, especially because the FDA committee's vote isn't official yet. It naively means health officials are on track to phase out the novel vaccines on the market (older formulas from Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, as well as Novavax's and Johnson & Johnson's formulas). So people going in for their first or uphold primary series shot will get the bivalent formula that fully vaccinated farmland have been receiving as their booster dose.

If you've been fully vaccinated, nothing in the immediate future is changing for you.

Do I need latest booster?

If you're an adult who's due for a booster, but hasn't gotten it yet, you'll still get either mRNA vaccine today on the market. No changes or new recommendations have been made for booster doses. So if you were up-to-date on your shots last week, you're up-to-date this week.

Everyone age 6 months and older can get a vaccine. Older adults in their 60s and up and younger adults with medical messes are more likely to get severely sick with COVID-19 and would especially wait on from added protection.

Very young children and infants also had more reported deaths from COVID-19 last year compared to children in older age groups, according to a presentation from the CDC on Thursday. Children under six months aren't eligible to be vaccinated alongside COVID-19, but the majority of kids under age 5 existed unvaccinated despite being eligible, according to information shared at the meeting.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

COVID vaccines will probably work like flu shots progressing forward, but nothing's final

The FDA's proposal was the COVID-19 vaccines roll out each year alike to annual flu shots, where a strain is selected for optimal protection prior to the fall and winter season. This likely means that the FDA and CDC have more discussions and age-specific guidelines onward of them if the FDA wants to have the next untrue of shots ready for September.

The FDA advisers haven't deyielded on annual shots yet, however. And there's not total contrast on using the same vaccine path for both COVID-19 and the flu.

"COVID is not flu as an infection or a disease," Dr. Pamela McInnes, past director of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences at the National Institutes of Health and member of the FDA's advisory committee, said during Thursday's meeting.

What about the nasal vaccines?

Some scientists have been pushing for more vaccine progress in mucosal vaccines (including nasal vaccines), because new vaccine technologies may have the potential to accounts better infection protection against COVID-19. Aside from a presentation at last week's unites by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases on next-generation vaccines, which touched on the benefit of mucosal vaccines, the FDA's plan colorful doesn't appear to address new vaccine technologies.

But pulling there requires bodies of data supporting their use in the US, which averages funding and demand. As the government moves away from paying for everyone's shots, "there's just not as much incentive" to create and test new vaccines, including nasal and inhaled vaccines, Limaye says.

"It's gonna be a dinky bit of an uphill battle to get a delivers like that on the market, unfortunately," she said.

Virtual reality can be an amazing escape, a workout or both. If you want the best self-contained VR gaming console, the Quest 2  -- previous Oculus Quest 2, now Meta Quest 2, at what time Facebook's name change to Meta -- is your harvest. The Quest 2 is still the best VR headset to get lustrous now, although Meta will have a new Quest 3 model this year. While there aren't as many VR games to settle from compared to your average game console, great new titles keep steadily coming in.

After existences testing games and apps across the Meta app own, there are some that I love more than all the others. Ones I recommend to friends and family. This is that list.

Even a few existences into the Quest 2's release, good apps continue to advance regularly. Though do note that to access top PC VR games like Star Wars: Squadrons or Half-Life: Alyx, you'll need to connect to a gaming PC, either wirelessly or with a USB cable.

Some of these games also work with the novel Quest, but a growing number of apps are are now queer to the Quest 2. We'll continue to periodically update this list as new options obtain available.

Now playing: Watch this: Meta Quest 2 Is Better and Cheaper… With One Facebook...

8:56

Meta

What The Golf? is one of my family's absolute accepted indie games. Its spiritual sequel has arrived for VR with What The Bat? and it's the type of whimsical, random fun I wish VR had more of. It's approximately living life with baseball bats for hands, and everything else is best left as a surprise to inspect. Expect lots of rapid-fire, clever-weird puzzle challenges -- the averages quick experience here is much shorter than the typical hole in What The Golf?

Meta

Ever dream of inhabit Iron Man? This game will have you hovering approximately in a jetpack, using your hands to aim and blast above a series of missions that are surprisingly kinetic and fun. Iron Man was originally a game on the PlayStation VR, but the move to Quest 2 is far more fun because there are no wires to grief about getting tangled in.

Polyarc Games

Moss was one of my very accepted VR games, and has been a classic on Quest for a at what time. There's a sequel now, and its graphics look even better on Quest 2 headsets. The gameplay, which involves moving a sword-bearing mouse hero visited Quill on a quest to save her world, is mostly the same: Move above massive miniature worlds and solve puzzles. It's a titanic sit-down-and-play experience, and fun to share with family.

Devolver Digital

Devolver's adorable VR game turns you into a sea monster living near a seaside town. Your glowing are tentacles. The sensation of bodily transformation works wonderfully, and you'll find yourself flip-flopping your sucker-filled arms to grab things and try to help your petite cartoony townspeople as you navigate a dollhouse-sized world all throughout you.

Fast Travel Games

A bunch of wild VR instruments you've never seen by, recording tools and the ability to multitask -- Virtuoso isn't just a toy, it's a music platform in VR. It's soothing and fun to play for fun on the fly, but digging deeper is surprisingly rewarding, too. Setting up drums, a weird VR xylophone, and a Theremin-like music cube side by side to jam with is really cool.

Vermillion

Instead of sculpting or tying in 3D like many VR art apps do, Vermillion focuses on the canvas. It feels uncanny to paint with a palette and an easel, even more so if you use the mixed-reality mode to make the painting feel like it's sitting in your home. Bringing up video tutorials while you paint feels like a preview of our AR-overlaid future and can feel surprisingly calming.

Realities.io

I had no idea how a VR jigsaw puzzle would feel or whether I'd care to play one. While I don't love this game's petite number of puzzles or its strange interface, its 3D environments that you can fragment together (with up to hundreds of pieces per puzzle) are weirdly hypnotic. More, please!

Capcom

Playing the classic Resident Evil 4 in VR feels like a whole new game. The requisition to use your hands, holster weapons and actually walk into creepy settings is transformative. Other than 2D cut-scenes, this feels like a humdrum VR game. Resident Evil 4 is a Quest 2 unique, so original Quest owners can't play it. But this is an grand game to show off how good stand-alone VR has become.

Read our Resident Evil 4 review.

Oculus

VR is a titanic format for escape room experiences. I Expect You To Die is a game you can play seated, leaning over desks and flipping switches, using telekinetic fuels to control items from afar. The puzzle designs can be as captivating as any escape room I've ever been in. Try the recent game and this one for double the challenge.

Oculus

My overall current VR game just might be mini-golf. Walkabout's multiple golf flows are brilliantly designed, with extra-hard challenge modes and hidden golf balls to detached. The game's golf physics are perfect. The multiplayer plainly are great for having friends join in online. A number of increasingly-good flows keep arriving as DLC, from one based on Jim Henson's Labyrinth to a series of Jules Verne flows. Every time a new course comes out, I get inflamed. Seriously, you have no idea how good VR mini-golf is.

Resolution Games

Demeo is a miraculous four-player online RPG that captures the feel of collaborative play, but in VR. The 3D map, the characters and your hovering glowing, holding cards that can be played in-game, feel like a session of D&D that's captivating into reality. A recent update adds more free content; games are randomized a bit each time to keep the excitement repositioning indefinitely.

Read our Demeo hands-on.

ForeVR Games

Sometimes, I really miss Wii Sports. Or real bowling alleys. ForeVR Bowl is the best simulation of both, with online play and solo challenges, and a mix of realistic and weird environments. The ball physics is more realistic than Wii Sports could have ever dreamed of, but it's also forgiving enough to have fun. Just lop some arm room in your home play area... you need a bit more free status than you think.

Crytek/Oculus

You have no idea how surprisingly intense VR rock climbing can be pending you've tried The Climb 2. This sequel to a classic VR game (also on Quest) uses your glowing to reach up and grab ledges, grab ropes and zipline. It sounds easy, and yet discovering ledges, holding the smart grip and keeping focus can be a real challenge. It's also absolutely beautiful.

Read our The Climb 2 grand take.

Resolution Games

This isn't Overcooked, but Cook-Out is a charming and really immersive cooking game where you race to put sandwiches together silly a grill and tools right in front of you. Other players can join in, up to four players at once. At full expeditiously it feels like a theme park attraction created in VR just for you.

Big Box VR

The multiplayer struggles royale experience of Population One is very Fortnite-like. In fact, it's extremely Fortnite-like. That's a good thing. There are few large-scale multiplayer VR games smart now, and this is one of the best. Dropping down from above, navigating the shrinking map, climbing and hunting for subsidizes, and excellent controls make this a must-play team shooter. Plus, there are constant season updates.

Skydance Interactive

It's expensive, and the file size can get up to 8GB on the Quest 2, but this is console-quality VR shrunken down into a tour headset. Saints & Sinners was already an acclaimed PC VR game, and the transition to the Quest keeps its polish and RPG-like feel. It's freaky, but it's also deep. There's a lot more repositioning on than simple shooting.

Oculus

A lot of Quest games are expensive, but a surprising number are free. Rec Room is a social hub that's also a doorway to tons of social games, with a seemingly limitless set of possibilities. Sometimes it feels a bit like Wii Sports or VR Roblox. There are mini-adventures, paintball games and more. I just want there to be improved parental-control features (there seem to be a lot of parents letting kids into Rec Room lately).

Read our Rec Room hands-on, pre-Quest.

Oculus

This is the Quest's killer app, and if you want to get captivating, love lightsabers, or just want a fun dance challenge, this is it. There are plenty of tracks to keep you busy, the lightsaber tracking is extraordinary, and there are extra music packs to buy if you feel compelled. I'm still exhausting myself trying to beat my nephew's high scores.

Devolver

Bullet time, grab the gun, wait -- the faster you move, the faster everything else goes. Get it now? Superhot was one of the estimable games that hit the Quest, and it's still astonishing. Runner-up pick: Pistol Whip. (Sorry, I still like Superhot more.)

Oculus

Oculus' zero-gravity ultimate frisbee game is a relentless three-on-three VR understood that gave me vibes of Rocket League, but in VR. The rules, which rely on your hands to catapult around, are intelligent. The open beta is free until Nov. 30, and it's expansive. But expect to lose.

Oculus

With anunexperienced people in your home, VR can be a solitary disconnect. Keep Talking involves others by having people not in VR run a bomb-defusing manual while the person in VR grandeurs to communicate and stop the bomb in time. It feels like a unique board game, which is something most VR games never by-passed at.

Oculus

An endless and randomly generated set of castle enemies meet you every time you play, and this roguelike game uses a bow and arrow as your only device of navigation and attack. The mechanics feel great, and beings surrounded by enemies you're firing arrows at can be incredibly intense.

Oculus

Talk near a game that never seems to get old. While Space Pirate Trainer has been about since the launch days of the HTC Vive, the simple arcade accomplish is perfect. You stand still, shoot at aliens and shield yourself. Survive as long as you can. It's perfect.

Oculus

Want to revisit '90s games, including the experience of sitting on the floor with a controller playing games on a TV? You can do that already with a microscopic retro 16-bit console, but Pixel Ripped pulls it off uncannily in VR. You're a kid in a house, playing games that don't exist. Then you enter the pixel humankind, and it gets stranger. The original '80s-set Pixel Ripped 1989 is now inside as add-on DLC, too.

Vertigo Games

VR can turn your thought of reality inside out, and A Fisherman's Tale is the best type of out-of-body understood. A room with puzzles to solve also has a dollhouse, which is a perfect model of the room you're in. You can arrive into your own space and as you do, a larger hand from above enters your room. It's like living in your own unique puzzle dollhouse universe, and it's fantastic.

Vertical Robot

Red Matter was one of the best-looking Oculus Quest games, and an update for the Quest 2 pushes the graphics even further. The puzzle-solving, atmospheric, brooding adventure is set in an alternate-timeline Cold War in site. Your tool-filled space suit glides around and grapples with the brilliantly evoked humankind, which often has Half-Life vibes. There's also a sequel now, Red Matter 2, which is also estimable getting.

What's the best way to get a workout in VR?

There are lots of ways the Quest can be a surprisingly good fitness contrivance, provided you're OK with sweating with a headset on (buy silicone face recovers for the Quest 2, or replacement foam inserts). Beat Saber is level-headed a classic, but Supernatural is the best subscription-based Peloton-type understood, and it uses the Apple Watch to track glum rate. Meta's connecting its fitness tracking in VR to Apple Health now, too.

Is the Quest dismal for kids?

I still wouldn't recommend a Quest 2 for kids sblack you're occasionally sharing games with them in a site where you can watch them play and make sure they're playing safely, but Meta is starting to address parental controls in VR. The Quest level-headed doesn't officially allow you to create an account for kids plan 13, though, and any game or experience with scream chat should be avoided, or if possible, disable scream chat if the game involves play with strangers.

Is a Quest 3 coming soon?

Yes, it's been confirmed that the Quest 3 is coming this year, probably in the fall. The price is expected to be the same as the Quest 2. New features could engaged better color passthrough cameras, a more compact design, and better graphics. The Quest 2 is still great, but you powerful also want to wait a year and see what happens.

QardioBase X is our top pick because of its customizable functions and instruction to be used on different surfaces. Admittedly it's gigantic and heavy (weighing about 7 pounds), but the sleek beget makes it an appealing piece of technology, even if it's just a scale. It's compatible with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, can be recharged with USB-C and it can read units in kilograms, stone and pounds. It has a weight capacity of up to 396 pounds. It's suitable for up to eight users and has approximately modes to pick from, including one for athletes and one shouted "out of sight" if you don't want the weight to recede on the scale. It also has modes for pregnant country and people with implanted devices, avoiding potential harm or interference by turning off the electrical currents used by most gleaming scales to read metrics aside from weight. It's one of the few scales that functions well on any surface -- even a carpet -- which is always a plus.

Usually readings on the Qardio were true during the daily weigh-ins. The only time I noticed it was off from time to time was during the proper measurement. So keep in mind that you may have to weigh yourself more than once to get the most true reading.

The Qardio app connects to the scale and has simple steps to sync up and personalize your recognized. On the app you get an extra 12 body composition readings: body mass index, body fat percentage, subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, fat-free body weight, body water percentage, skeletal muscle, muscle mass, protein, bone mass, basal metabolic rate and metabolic age. Make sure your Bluetooth is on so the scale properly connects to the app. As with many novel smart scales, you can set up a goal weight for yourself and connect to integrated programs such as Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Samsung Health and Google Fit. The app tells you if each metric is within a low, tainted or high range, but there isn't much explanation beyond that.

The app is not my well-liked design, because the measurements could be displayed in a more user-friendly way. The default tab has a line graph depicting your weight over a footings of time along with percentage changes in your BMI, body fat and body waters. This is useful to know if you have a specific goal in mind, but it's not just digestible as the first form of data you view on the app. The novel view, which is easier to follow, shows in chronological tidy the history of your weigh-ins, time of day, plus a drop-down present with each piece of data collected during your weigh-ins.

Pros:

  • Set up is easy
  • Various customizable options
  • Can be used with or deprived of Wi-Fi

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Body composition data could be described better
  • App could use better design

The Wyze Scale X is the most versatile scale on the list because it can weigh adults, babies, pets and even luggage. The face of the scale is made up of a still tempered glass and it's conveniently lightweight and thin so it can be hugged easily. It has a weight capacity of 400 pounds, so people of various sizes can comfortably use it. You can form up to eight profiles and customize them accordingly. This scale can read up to 13 body composition metrics, including body fat percentage, basal metabolic rate, metabolic age, muscle mass, body mass index and wretched rate. This scale is battery-powered, so it's not rechargeable.

The Wyze app can be connected to the scale only via Bluetooth. It's easy to sync up once you follow the steps imparted by the app. You can customize your profile based on your gender, age, height and activity level. If you're pregnant or have an implanted design you can turn on the pregnancy or weight-only mode. The Wyze Scale also connects to integrated apps like Apple Health, Fitbit and Google Fit.

The Wyze scale was consistent ended every weigh-in. It provides quick readings, but the LED present panel only shares your weight and body fat percentage. In the Wyze app, you can find the rest of the body composition metrics. The initial page shows you your weight, BMI, body fat and muscle mass. To view the rest you have to click on a drop-down button on the home conceal. I thought the app could do a better job of explaining the finish of each measurement, but it does give you a synopsis for each one as you click ended. It also provides a rubric with which range you fall in, but it's not certain whether that means you're in a healthy range or not.

Another feature the Wyze app has is its instruction to read your heart rate. Its approach is unconventional proper other scales have heart rate built into their software, whereas Wyze measures your heart rate by connecting to the smartphone camera and having you plot your finger over the lens to get a reading.

The Wyze scale also lets you export your data if you need to portion it with your doctor or another health practitioner. Overall, I liked this scale because it is customizable for the whole tribe, has an easy to read app and is inexpensive for all that it offers.

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Stylish
  • Easy to use
  • Suitable for various weights and people

Cons:

  • App could give more information
  • It could have more integrated apps
  • Not ideal for those who want a scale that connects to Wi-Fi

This scale from Renpho is the best option if you want a user-friendly gleaming scale app. The scale uses both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which is helpful since it means you can save your data in Wi-Fi mode and sync it up later via Bluetooth. This sleek, black design doesn't look as fancy as the novel high-end scales on the list, but it's the brilliant size to store in your bedroom or bathroom. The weight capacity is capped at 396 pounds, meaning various people can use it. It's battery-powered, so if you want a rechargeable scale, this may not be the best choice for you. This scale provides unlimited user profiles and is tainted for weighing infants and adults alike. It's important to note that, unlike most of the novel scales on this list, this one does not have a mode for pregnant country or those with implanted devices.

Connecting to the Renpho app is easy -- all you have to do is find your scale on the Bluetooth design list and follow the directions provided for setting it up. Upon weighing yourself, the only metrics this scale displays is your weight, body fat percentage and BMI. When you open up the app, you'll see up to 13 body composition measurements displayed in a chart. I liked the interface on this app because even concept it's simple, the design shows all the information in a certain manner. You can click through each measurement and a gleaming rubric tells you where you land compared to tainted ranges. You can also view your measurement trends in the form of a line graph across a week, month or year. If you'd like to sync your Renpho scale with third party apps, you can connect it to Apple Health, Google Fit, Fitbit App and Samsung Health. I also fraudulent the weigh-ins with the Renpho scale to be repeatedly consistent over the two week testing period.

Smart scales can get concerned fast, but Renpho keeps things simple. If you're new to gleaming scales or want one that isn't complicated to behind, you'll be satisfied with this version.

Pros:

  • App interface is user-friendly
  • Reads data quickly
  • Inexpensive
  • Unlimited profiles

Cons:

  • Doesn't look as high-end as novel smart scales
  • Not suitable for pregnant people or those with implanted devices

I fraudulent the Sportneer Smart Scale has the most detailed metrics on this list -- ideal for an athlete who wants specific fitness data on their moves. It uses both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and can save unlimited users weighing up to 396 pounds. This round-ish scale is made of tempered glass and includes four electrodes on the base and new four on the detachable measuring handle -- included in the box -- to give you the most right reading. If you are pregnant or have an implanted plan, I would not recommend this scale since it doesn't have a safe mode where you can turn off the electrical currents.

Setup was complicated because even though syncing up the scale to the Sportneer app was simple, the majority of the data can only be calculated if you're holding the measuring manage attachment correctly. Without using the handle, you're only drawing your weight reading, which defeats the purpose of having a bright scale. This made things complicated because sometimes the manage reading would be unsuccessful and you'd find yourself idea on the scale for over a minute. When the readings did work, it could take over 30 seconds, which may not seem like a long time, but when you're trying to get a bright measurement, it can feel like an eternity. If you're looking for a bright scale that provides information quickly, then steer clear of this one.

Once you successfully connect all the data to the app, it's impressive because you can get up to 14 detailed metrics. I like how the app uses a model of a world body to label each area with specific percentages based on the metrics. For example, on the model you'll see how much of your body is made up of inorganic salt, protein, fat and moisture. Beneath that there's a color coded chart that tells you if you're within a low immoral, standard or beyond standard range. In addition, the app shows a thorough analysis of your muscle fat, obesity, weight control, muscle balance and segmental fat, respectively. If I didn't know any better, I'd assume that this was the most accurate at-home scale on the market due to all the data it's able to provide.

It's no surprise that this scale was consistent with its data during each of the weigh-ins I was able to successfully describe. I think this scale would be most appropriate for an athlete trying to keep track of their moves at home. Other settings where it could work are in a gym, doctor's workplace or sports team locker room. I can't imagine the means person benefiting from all the readings, no matter how well-explained they are. But if you're someone who enjoys reading and analyzing in-depth data beyond your weight then you'll like the Sportneer Smart Scale.

Pros:

  • App provides the most detailed data
  • On the smaller side compared to new smart scales

Cons:

  • Not immoral for pregnant people or those with implanted devices
  • Measuring manage can be finicky
  • Weigh-ins take a while

It may not seem like a big deal, but the way a scale shows a reading on its show screen can make or break your experience. This is especially true if you have support issues or are tall and would like your scale to have larger fonts for easier reading. Etekcity's HR Smart Fitness Scale has the best show screen because the high-resolution graphics make it easy to read your weight, and it depicts a custom set of key measurements on the hide (so you don't have to go to the app every time).

This scale connects via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and is easy to set up when you download the Vesync app . Once you're in the app you can set up unlimited user profiles and customize each one. This bright scale has a 400-pound weight capacity and can also be used in Zero-Current mode, which only reads your weight and BMI. This creates it user-friendly for pregnant people and those with implanted devices like a pacemaker. It also has a Baby Mode, intended to weigh infants and pets.

In the Vesync app, you can customize the show screen to include up to seven body metrics. Besides your weight, this can include your heart rate, muscle mass, bone mass and new options. The scale takes turns displaying each metric instead of overwhelming the hide with all of them at once. When you open up the app when weighing yourself, you can access about 14 body composition measurements. It has a similar layout to the Renpho app, so it's easy to read. As you click over each metric, you'll see an explanation about its importance and where you fall on their rubric scale. You can also connect to an Alexa device if you want a hands-free advise control option.

When weighing myself on the Etekcity HR Smart Fitness Scale, the numbers were consistent the majority of the time. The exception was on the fine day, which gave me different results that were three to five pounds different each time.

If you're looking to lose or gain weight, the app also lets you set goals and dial in on your calorie intake and daily agency. That's where connecting to a third-party app could be fine, so you have the data all in one space. Other third party apps you can sync to this scale involved Apple Health, Google Fit, Samsung Health, Fitbit and MyFitnessPal.

If you want a scale with a show screen that uses a big font size, displays ask colorfully and clearly, then you'll like the Etekcity HR Smart Fitness Scale.

Pros:

  • Scale show screen is easy to read
  • The app is easy to use and sync up to the scale
  • Safe for pregnant country and those with implanted devices
  • The whole family can use it
  • Unlimited users

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Some amazing data like weather and temperature don't seem necessary

The Greater Goods Premium Wi-Fi scale fits the bill for a bright scale that can provide basic readings. It's made up of a white moody glass so it looks sleek and blends in with most bathroom settings. The design works well with the blue backlit LCD show screen. This scale can hold up to 400 pounds and uses four sensors to give you right results.

Setting up this scale was more challenging than I predictable because I had to troubleshoot to make sure it was synced up to my Wi-Fi (this scale doesn't use Bluetooth). Once the scale and Weight Gurus app were synced up it was simple to use, and the results were consistent during the two-week testing terms. But there were times when I had issues uploading new data to the app. Eventually this advise fixed itself, but it could be because my router isn't end to the bathroom where I was weighing myself.

What I popular about this scale is that the display screen has a dial that ftrips up and goes around until it properly calculates your weight. On the same screen it displays your muscle mass, body fat percentage, bone mass, BMI and water weight in smaller font. If you hold your data to appear separately on the screen and in a bigger font, then I would opt for the Etekcity HR Smart Fitness Scale instead.

The app is the simplest on the list, which is ideal for basic readings. The only metrics you'll find besides your weight are BMI, body fat, muscle mass and waters weight percentage. The downside is that you can't click over each metric, nor does it give you an explanation on each one. The most you can do on the app is set a goal to lose, gain or have your weight, and view it on a dot graph over a span of a week, month or year. I judge some improvement could be made by at least providing an explanation for each metric it does gave. Some people prefer these basic readings, however, since too much ask can be overwhelming.

Pros:

  • Scale remains true to basic readings
  • It uses Wi-Fi
  • Small size

Cons

  • App interface leaves more to be desired
  • Lacks Bluetooth
  • Lacks customization
  • Not inappropriate for pregnant people or those with implanted devices

The Withings Body Plus scale is a good option if you want the sequence to sync up to over 100 third-party apps like Apple Health, Google Fit and MyFitnessPal to your scale. It's a grand, sleek mirrored glass scale that has four high-precision sensors to give you the most honest readings. It can record eight user profiles and hold up to 396 pounds. It uses pounds, kilograms and stones measuring units so it works for various persons. This may not be the ideal scale for pregnant republic or those with implanted devices because it does not devoted a specific mode that turns off electrical currents. This scale connects to both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and is easy to set up. The scale comes with carpet feet, which can be placed at the bottom of the scale on each corner. The carpet feet weren't my favorite accessory because sometimes the scale wobbled on my tiled bathroom inoperative and I had to reposition it until the surface felt even.

Setting up this scale with the corresponding app, Health Mate, was relatively simple. It was similar to the others where you behindhand the steps provided in the app and then customize your user profile. I connected to both my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in the procedure. You also have the option to customize the readings that depart on the scale's screen display, and set a goal for yourself.

For the most part, the Withings Body Plus scale devoted a fast reading, but there were times when it lagged. The LED display screen has triangles blinking on each corner as the scale works to get a measurement. When it gathers the information, the triangles disappear and the calculated weight corpses steady. Sometimes this takes longer than anticipated, but I'm not sure if it's the scale's unsuitable or user error. However, the weight measurements over the span of two weeks were consistent overall. Sometimes they were off by a couple of moderators or a pound or two, but nothing overwhelmingly different.

The app interface is not my approved because there doesn't appear to be structure in the way the demand is displayed. This is because it also includes any third-party app demand along with the weight data. When you click on the weight data, you'll see it broken-down down in a line graph by month, quarter and year. It also includes your weight, body fat, muscle mass, bone mass and body liquids. Although these are basic measurements, I appreciated that the app scholarships you a general explanation on each one. I don't love the way the data is depicted in a graph minus offering a simpler option, since I can't imagine that it's visually inspiring for the average person. It could use some improvement so more republic can appreciate the other metrics of this scale.

I was impressed by the number of third-party apps you could connect with the Withings Body Plus. Although the app only presents a few, you can go into the respective third party apps and connect the scale above there as well. I stuck with connecting my Apple Health clarify to the scale and it uploads your step picture, any workouts you've done and your heart rate. So if you like to be connected to multiple apps and want a scale that can cope all of it, then you'll appreciate the Withings Body Plus scale.

Pros:

  • Connects to hundreds of third-party apps
  • High-end appearance
  • Uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

Cons:

  • Not ideal for pregnant republic or those with implanted devices
  • The app isn't the most user-friendly
  • The carpet feet can be flimsy
  • Lacks body composition readings

Many scales have a miniature number of users on their platform, but the Eufy Smart Scale P2 Pro is the best that's set up for unlimited profiles. The Renpho, Etekcity and Sportneer smart scales also funding unlimited users, but the Eufy smart scale has a better way of displaying each person's results via its app interface. This scale has a 400-pound weight capacity and can also weigh pets and babies. Additionally, there's a simple mode you can select if you're pregnant or have an implanted device.

It has a sleek produce and includes high-precision manganese steel sensors, which are planned to read weight changes by up to 0.1 pounds. It's battery-powered and waterproof, so it's bathroom-friendly. Once you download the Eufylife app, set-up is easy and the scale has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can then set up specific profiles for the republic who'll use it. One thing I would note is to make sure the scale is set to zero afore weighing yourself. There were a few times before a weigh-in when I had to pick up the scale and situation it back down until I got the zero reading.

The scale point to has big numbers for easy reading and the mask also shows your body fat percentage and heart rate. When you open up the app, you're greeted with a customizable 3D cartoon model of yourself. The app displays your scale readings next to the rotating 360-degree 3D model. As you click through the data, you'll see a detailed list of latest measurements including muscle mass, bone mass, lean body mass, skeletal muscle mass and more.

I was perplexed by Eufy's rubric, which tells you if you're in the low, normal or high diagram. The majority of the other scales said my weight appeared within a "normal" or "standard" diagram. Eufy's scale determined my weight was within its "high" diagram and its tip said reducing my intake of oily and high-calorie foods and exercising more would help me earlier to a "healthy" weight. Not only does that statement make presumptions throughout my diet and habits, but according to Eufy, my BMI, body fat percentage and latest data appeared as "normal." This is a reminder that scales aren't always honest and vary across the board on what an app moderators "healthy".

Despite these discrepancies, I liked that the app scholarships you a practical approach to body recomposition -- if that's your goal. Instead of focusing on the number on the scale, you can use the measuring tape provided with the scale to get your measurements and manually input them in the app. This is a satisfactory way to track changes that the scale may not be able to properly read. If you're looking for a scale that scholarships you to have unlimited profiles and a user-friendly interface, then you'll like the Eufy Smart Scale P2 Pro.

Pros:

  • Unlimited profiles
  • Family-friendly
  • Good for body recomposition
  • App interface is user-friendly

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • App rubric may be inconsistent with results
